AVYNESS is delighted to represent Hayward & Haines as their distributor in Germany, bringing a distinctive piece of Cape Town’s creative world to Europe.
What first drew us to Hayward & Haines was more than a single collection. It was the combination of colour, pattern, craftsmanship and a wonderfully confident approach to decoration. It’s about pieces that can completely change the atmosphere of a room while still leaving space for individual expression.
Designed and made in Cape Town, the collections feel closely connected to the AVYNESS approach: interiors that are collected rather than simply furnished, where art, objects, pattern and pieces from different worlds are allowed to meet.
HAYWARD & HAINES – CAPE TOWN
Hayward & Haines was founded by friends and creatives Julie Hayward and Sarah Haines, bringing together Julie’s background in interior decorating and Sarah’s artistic eye.
Inspired by Africa past and present, their designs draw from its landscapes, wildlife, botanical imagery and visual heritage. Vintage illustrations are reworked through colour, scale and pattern, creating textiles that feel expressive and contemporary while retaining a sense of history.
Each fabric is developed from concept through to final print in Cape Town, resulting in collections that are bold, playful and often a little unexpected. From luxurious velvets and graphic linen-look fabrics to their distinctive rPET polyweaves.
For AVYNESS, that combination is exactly what makes the collection so interesting: these are not pieces that need to belong to one particular interior style. They can sit within a modern space, interrupt a classical room or add an unexpected layer to an otherwise restrained interior.

Local production is an important part of the Hayward & Haines philosophy.
Their products are individually designed, sourced and manufactured in Cape Town, working with local businesses, makers and entrepreneurs. By keeping production close to home, the brand supports local craftsmanship and contributes to economic opportunities within its community.
Sustainability is also reflected in the choice of materials. Selected collections are available in rPET polyweave, a textile made using recycled polyethylene terephthalate derived from discarded plastic bottles, giving existing material a new purpose.
For us, this matters. Beautiful objects become even more meaningful when we understand where they come from, who makes them and the story behind their production.

Rather than holding large quantities of every design, colour and size, AVYNESS works with a considered presale and made-to-order approach.
This allows us to offer a much broader selection from the Hayward & Haines collection while ordering more intentionally and avoiding unnecessary stock.

Presale articles have an estimated delivery time of approximately 4–6 weeks.
This slower rhythm is intentional: fewer unnecessary quantities, more choice and pieces selected specifically for the homes they are going into.
